REM State

I was trapped in a space fortress by some sort of phantasmic ghoul. One night I crept out of my room, looked out the gigantic window, and saw the glowing eye of an enormous space creature staring back at me.

I dreamt that I gave birth, and when the doctor presented me with my offspring, it was the size of a mouse. She held it up between her fingers then, dismissively, flicked it across the room because, "This one is too small."

Inspired by a night of restless sleep, a nightmare woman reaching out to grab me by the face, and scaring my husband awake at 3 a.m. by screaming over and over again at full volume.
